The Berlin Open archery event has established itself along with other top-level money-prized events in the international tournament calender. The event will take place in the heart of Berlin and attracts with its wide range of money prizes. Organized by the successful archers of the Bogensportclub BB-Berlin and the Bogensportförderverein BB e.V., Berlin welcomes national and international top-level and amateur archers. According to its motto the Berlin Open 2011 wants to be a forum for archers from all levels. Due to its additional tournament mode the Berlin Open offer, unlike other prestigious competitions, an additional chance for amateur athletes to win attractive non-cash prizes, whereas top-level athletes compete for cash prizes.

 Jetzt fragt sich der geneigte Leser, was will der Autor, was haben die OPEN mit Mode zu tun? Erstmal nichts. Oder doch? Traditionell in grün und weiß, so kennt man den BSC BB-Berlin beim Bogenschiessen überall. Ein Mal im Jahr dürfen wir aber anders. In jedem Jahr stellt sich die Frage neu, was ziehen wir zu den OPEN an, besser nicht was, sondern welche Farbe?

Ja, wir sind noch bei der Aufbereitung des diesjährigen internationalen Preisgeldturnieres im Bogenschiessen, den Berlin-Open 2011. Es gab nicht nur Schützen und deren Schießstile zu bestaunen, auch war reichhaltig neueste Technik und Equipment vertreten. So haben wir diesjährig den Ausstellerflächen auf der Shoppingmeile deutlich mehr Platz als noch im Vorjahr eingeräumt. Doch heute wollen wir uns mal den Preisen im Second-Chance der zweitplatzierten Compounder etwas näher widmen...

Unglaublich, möchte man meinen. Breitensport trifft auf Spitzensport, so war unsere Devise. Doch den Blick auf die Ergebnislisten gebannt steht ein Name ganz oben bei den Compoundern: Joe Mondry (GER, von BS Bietigheim). Der wollte sein Ergebnis so irgendwie gar nicht breitensporttauglich darstellen, ballert im Second-Chance Modus doch tatsächlich Full-House...

Auch dieses Jahr konnten wir wieder mit einem tollen Rahmenprogramm aufwarten, und dem Anlass entsprechend dieses direkt vor den Gold-Finals der Berlin-Open 2011. In einer Tombola wurden drei hochwertige, mit speziellem Berlin-Open-Airbrush versehene Spektive ausgelost, zu welcher sämtliche Teilnehmer der diesjährigen Berlin-Open bereits durch ihr Startticket teilnahmeberechtigt waren, und zu gucken gab's dann auch noch was... ;-D

We are happy to announce that four month before the start of the event the first 100 starting positions are already taken. At the moment most archers who entered are from Germany, but we see more and more international archers from e.g. the Netherlands, Denmark, Slovakia, Finland and Poland are applying....

It was not easy to find a date for this year´s Berlin Open archery event, but we hope we were able to meet the majority’s requests. It turned out to be very difficult to find a date since we had to take dates for nationwide events, as qualifications for the national championships, as well as other sports events at Sportforum Berlin into account. In addition international competitions like the indoor competition in Singapore are coming up in the beginning of December 2011...
